Earl J. "Casey" Chrestensen, 89, Lincoln, a beloved friend to one and all, owner and operator of Casey's Tavern (The "Little United Nations" on P Street) has "gone fishin'." He was born on March 9, 1916, to Earl and Hazel (White) Chrestensen in Exeter. He passed away on Jan. 29, 2006.
He graduated from Exeter High School and attended the Lincoln School of Commerce. He worked for Continental Oil before and after World War II. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the South Pacific Theater. He was owner and operator of Casey's Tavern for 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Elk's 80, Lincoln Gun Club, Amateur Trapshooters Association and First Plymouth Church.
Survivors: wife, Winona; daughters, sons-in-law, Michele and Joe Glenn, Laramie, Wyo., Monteen and Bruce King, Brenham, Texas; grandchildren, Erin and Jim Glenn-Hash, Lincoln, Casey and Shannon Glenn, Norman, Okla., Calvin King, Kelly King, Kacy King, all Brenham; great-grandchild, Henry Scout Glenn-Hash, Lincoln; sister, Maxine Thomas, Scottsbluff. Preceded in death by parents.
Memorial service: 3 p.m. Thursday, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Pastor Barbara Smisek. Book signing: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, funeral home. Memorials: Madonna Foundation.
